Furnace replacement

Replacing a furnace, moving ducts or finishing the lower level? Sample the insulation first. MDH counts duct and furnace insulation among home materials that can hold asbestos, and we cut positive wrap away wet and seal it for disposal.
Duct and furnace jobs are welcome across Eagan, Inver Grove Heights and West St. Paul.

The old unit’s insulation comes off before your installer disconnects anything, leaving clean metal.
Each run, boot and collar is sampled separately, and one clean piece clears nothing else.
If your home is heated with hot water instead of forced air, the pipes carry insulation too, and pipe insulation is another item on MDH’s list.
Even a short section deserves care. A license is required for more than 6 square feet of friable wrap on ducts or more than 10 linear feet on pipes, but MDH says smaller amounts are not safe for that reason alone.
Heating work needs a shut-off window, so we plan it around your schedule and your HVAC contractor’s.
We agree on the shut-off day with you and your HVAC contractor ahead of time, so the new equipment can go in soon after we finish.
Please move boxes and storage away from the furnace, along the duct runs and out of the path we use to carry bagged waste outside.
Two papers come to you at the end. One is the lab report on the clearance air samples, and the other is the waste manifest showing where the insulation went. Keep both in the folder with your furnace records.

Insulation nobody has tested belongs on the asbestos testing page first, while our main page sums up every other job we handle in Eagan.
